Worldcoin Refutes Reports of Insufficient Influx
of New Users
As evidence, one of the startup's executives, Sam Altman, shares a video from Japan showing a long queue at an eye retina scanning machine, claiming that registrations are happening every 8 seconds.

It's worth noting that there's an ongoing promotional
campaign where every participant who undergoes the scanning procedure receives
25 WLD (approximately $50). Some consider this an unfair exchange of personal
data for mere tokens.
Moreover, some experts in
the crypto community argue that despite its fantastical appeal and seeming
leap towards the metaverse, there could be a backlash following the first
instance of personal data fraud.
Meanwhile, Worldcoin has not provided any comments, in
response to Cointelegraph's inquiry, regarding the alleged insufficient influx
of new registered users.
Considering the current WLD token price (around $2.3),
potential investors have decided to hold back their funds and observe how the
situation unfolds.
All of this takes place amidst close scrutiny from the
British regulator, expressing concerns over the safety of biodata usage.
