Coinbase recalls direct democracy
That's great!
Apparently,
the US authorities' policy of regulating the crypto business has so annoyed the
largest American crypto exchange Coinbase that it has decided to address
directly American voters.
According
to statistics, there are 52 million cryptocurrency holders in the US. And each
of them is affected by the war of the authorities (primarily the SEC) with the
crypto business. And it’s not just the war - every aggressive remark that leads
a government spokesman to the financial loss of millions of Americans.
The
mobilization of 52 million voters is a very serious step, making a bid to
transform the fragmented and amorphous crypto community into a real political
force. Now the call to voters sounds quite innocent - it is suggested to
address their congressmen and demand a clear "cryptocurrency" policy.
The situation
is really dramatic: if the EC and its allies will continue to attack the crypto
business, it will (and already does) lead to an exodus of crypts from America.
And who
would benefit from that?
I am, of
course, pleased with this initiative and absolutely support it. We have before us a real example of true democracy, when the basic
issues of regulation are proposed to the people! However, I suppose that the
guys from Coinbase, may have serious problems. They have entered a foreign
territory - in politics they do not like competitors, especially such promising
ones. They are either exploited by use as puppets or removed from the site.
So, the
idea is great, but be careful, guys, and take care!
