Crypto is not for terrorism

Yesterday, Deputy Secretary of U.S. Treasury Wally Adeyemo made an unexpected announcement. It was unexpected just because we are accustomed to hearing from the authorities words with accusatory bias. The other day, about 100 congressmen signed a petition demanding to stop the financing of terrorism with cryptocurrency.

It may appear that the terrorists, in a single act, closed their fiat accounts and switched to a crypt.

Wally Adeyemo admitted that this assumption was irresponsible. Only a small proportion of terrorist groups get a crypto for their "work”.

Most of us are quite satisfied with the "traditional methods ". Indeed, the theory suggests that it is possible to build a perfectly protected system based on the blockchain, however, the system works in the environment, interacts with other applications and sometimes has to be revealed. Yes, you have received Bitcoins. And where will you put them? Will withdraw to fiat – immediately can fall under the risk China.

Either way, as long as terrorism is financed by a fiat. Paper money is much harder to track. It doesn’t leave such obvious traces.

So, the crypt is one of the most law-abiding assets. At least, in terms of contacts with terrorists.
