Who remembers Solana at $8? And who remembers how many times Solana's blockchain stopped?
February 2023. Back then Solana's network simply couldn't handle the load and stopped processing transactions. The developers rolled out a plan on how to deal with it: they improved updates, added a command, and made the restart process simpler. But this was not the first problem.
In October 2022, the network crashed due to an error in setting up nodes.
In August, there was a major theft of tokens due to a server vulnerability.
In June, the network had to be restarted because one of the transaction functions turned out to be inoperative.
In May, transactions from bots that were stamping out NFTs completely took out the blockchain. The system couldn't handle it, consensus was broken, and the blockchain stopped for 7 hours.
And so the network stopped 10 times.
Why?
Because the blockchain is a complex ecosystem. You can't write perfect code once and forget about it. Absolutely any system requires updates, improvements, and constant monitoring. It's like training: if you miss it, you'll lose shape. That's how everything works, including blockchains.
What's up with Solana today?
The blockchain token has grown 30 times. Although how many times have holders hated, buried, stamped their feet, expressed dissatisfaction.
And now Solana is one of the most discussed ecosystems, which has overtaken BNB and Durov's TON in capitalization.
The moral is simple: those who showed patience received a good reward for their steadfastness.
