Fidelity Applied for Bitcoin ETF
On Thursday, June 29, the Fidelity investment fund filed an application to the SEC to issue a bitcoin ETF. Fidelity follows a similar application filed by BlackRock. This is Fidelity's second attempt to issue an ETF. The first one has been rejected with the standard wording "risks of fraud and market manipulation".
Lado
Okhotnikov, CEO of Meta-Force:
"BlackRock's
actions have become some trigger for the market. On the one hand, bitcoin has
grown up, on the other hand, the example was
contagious. Now there is a queue for ETFs at the SEC. The regulator finds itself in a
difficult position, its principled policy is known: “no decentralization in securities”.
Meanwhile, constant refusals on monotonous
pretexts raise suspicions of abuse of authority. It is very likely that the
final ruling will lie in the political area. We are waiting."
