USDC Tap-to-Pay Coming to iPhones: Apple Opens NFC Chip to Third-Party Wallets

The USDC Tap-to-Pay feature will soon be available on Apple iPhones, according to Circle CEO. Apple has decided to open its NFC chip to third-party wallet developers. The access was granted due to regulators’ pressure. To be more particular, the corporation wanted to avoid a substantial fine and signed the agreement with the European Union. 

This move doesn’t only broaden the functionality of iOS devices, but expands payment options for users. Previously, they could pay with Apple Pay only. Now more payment options open up, including cryptocurrencies. This development can boost the adoption of digital currencies in everyday transactions.
